  1. Retro TV Network had another programming change in our area. Magnum PI and Simon and Simon have been replaced with Knight Rider and Alfred Hitchcock Hour. Sorry, Michael Knight, but I miss Magnum. And Alfred, I love ya, but I've seen you over and over and over. I miss the Simons too... especially Rick. ;)

  2. Well, The A-Team opens today. If you see it, please post about it here.

I'm kinda torn. I have never seen a tv show successfully turned into a good movie. They never seem to be quite true to the original.

  3. The new A-Team movie is slated to be released on June 11, 2010. Given the string of remakes of old tv shows and how horrible they turned out, I'm a little leery of this movie. They're updating the storyline a bit, they're Iraq war vets instead of Vietnam vets. Here's the cast based on the latest from IMDB.

    John "Hannibal" Smith: Liam Neeson

    Templeton "Faceman" Peck: Bradley Cooper

    "Howling Mad" Murdock: Sharlto Copley

Bosco "B.A." Baracus: Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson

  4. Yesterday, I ran across some great videos put together by people with way too much time on their hands. :) They were classic tv intros redone with scenes from Star Wars. Classic!

    Here are some of them:

    Magnum, p.i./Han Solo, p.i.

    Macgyver

    Airwolf

    Dallas

  5. There used to be a show called Junkyard Wars on which two teams would be set loose in a junkyard to find what they could to piece together some device to conform to whatever particular goal was given to them. For example, one episode had them building dragsters to race in.

I seriously think the A-Team would've kicked ass in this show, hypothetically (and fictionally) speaking. Every episode they were always building some sort of contraption, usually some kind of armored vehicle to break into (or out of) wherever they had to go. Not only that, but they did it in a kick-ass musical montage lasting only a few minutes.

Any of you A-Team fans out there have any particular favorites of these musical montage builds? LOL.

  6. Two of my favorite myths tackled in Mythbusters was the washing machine one. I laugh my ass off every time I see that dummy spinning around. I also enjoyed the walking on water myth. Seeing Adam flop face forward into the pool gave me a good belly laugh too.

  7. ARGH!!! I just heard they did this to WKRP too! Do you know how many songs they'd have to replace? It's a friggin' radio station! I bet they butchered the show. I guess I'll just have to either wait til they come to their senses and they offer an unedited version on dvd or I'll record it off tv if I ever find it running on any channel.

Can they throw us avid tv fans a friggin' bone here?

  8. I don't know about you, but I don't need 3 hours of Leave It To Beaver a day (Sorry, LITB fans! But I don't!) And where did Offbeat Cinema go?! Not sure I like this new line-up, but at least Magnum's still around. I just wish our cable company would update their on-screen guide listings! I have no clue what's on anymore. :(

  9. Paper War is one of my favorite episodes of season 7, if not the entire Magnum PI series. I'm a sucker for "practical joke one-upmanship gone too far" type episodes. LOL. Though, I'd have to say, blowing up the Bridge Over the River Kwai was crossing the line... How many times has Higgins rebuilt that thing? LOL.

  10. I was searching for Gunsmoke video clips online and ran across these Gunsmoke bloopers. Check out the Gunsmoke Gag Reel!

I love the line where James Arness says "I'd advise him to leave town... on the next plane." LOL. What's your favorite Gunsmoke blooper?

  11. The great thing about these nonsense lyrics is that you can make up your own as long as they seem to fit. This is what I got out of it...

I'm married to the bunch, an' uh, it's the best thing I ever had.

Still through the morning and I rock 'em all dead, uh huh.

I said, "Good punch! And, uh, I'd had a beer in hand-a."

I said-a "Do it to it!"

And I'm cruisin' on Ned, uh huh.

  12. I totally agree! It borders on blasphemy for tv fans. I was watching a few Greatest American Hero episodes a few weeks ago on dvd and realized that the songs had been replaced! Needless to say, I was more than a bit peeved. I even had a friend who'd also watched ask me why the title of the song was mentioned when that was obviously not the song that was playing! I had to explain the whole issue with Anchor Bay not paying for the rights to the songs.

I would pay extra to get unaltered versions of the episodes. Do these companies not realize that we want the show as it aired, not something less? I would even forego any dvd bonuses/extras they'd want to add if they just took that money and put it into making sure the episodes were presented in their original form, music and all.
