  1. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there and I'm wearing Milk Bone underwear. -Norm, Cheers.

I LOVE that line. One of my favorite Cheers quotes. Norm's got so many quotable lines. I also like this one..

Women. You can't live with 'em. Pass the beernuts.

    ROFL!

I also love when Cliff is trying to market his "beetabaga fajita in a pita". ROFL. I've said that to the hubby before, "Would you like to try a beetabaga fajita in a pita?" and he just stared at me like I was insane. LOL.

  2. Since we've been watching The Honeymooners lately, I have to add:

Bang, zoom! To the moon, Alice!

    Baby, you're the greatest.

Then, because I'm such a sci fi geek... I actually use this one a lot...

    Danger, Will Robinson!

And some Mary Tyler Moore, which we've been watching too. Have I mentioned I LOVE all the retro tv networks we get?

A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants. (ROFL!)

You've got spunk. I hate spunk.

  3. There are some tv shows where you can say a phrase or two and most folks will know exactly which show you're talking about. For example, "Elizabeth! I'm comin' to join ya, honey!" was commonly said on Sanford & Son. Another one was "Sit on it!" from Happy Days. These sayings become popular and are frequently quoted or used in conversation. They're a part of our pop culture. Everyone has their favorites. What are your favorite TV quotes and catch phrases?

    Some of mine:

Book 'em, Danno. - Hawaii Five-o

    I know nothing! - Hogan's Heroes

I love it! I love it! - Dukes of Hazzard

I love it when a plan comes together. - The A-Team

Beam me up, Scotty - Star Trek (Yeah, I know that exact phrase was never used on the show, but it's become irrevocably tied to the show.)

Let's bust some punks! - The Good Guys

  4. I thoroughly enjoyed the Gunsmoke marathon tribute to James Arness this past Saturday on MeTV. But, 11 hours was not enough, so Sunday we had our own Gunsmoke marathon via Netflix. In fact, we watch an hour or two every night. Totally lovin' the Netflix. :D

I've also been reading a bit of Gunsmoke fan fiction. There are some pretty decent stories there that continue the adventures of Marshal Dillon, Miss Kitty, Doc Adams, Festus Haggen, and the rest of the citizens of Dodge City.

  5. I'm watching the premiere of the series Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy on the History Channel. He's visiting moonshiners in Dawsonville Georgia, the Emily Post Institute to learn some manners, and the frog jumping contest in Calaveras County, California. This show might join my regular viewing list.

I learned that some of those shine runners could haul 30 jugs of shine at 100 mph. Woowhee! Larry got to drive an old shine running car and visited with Bill Elliott of NASCAR fame. They did donuts out in back of Bill's place. Makes me wish we had room to do that here.

I laughed so hard during the Emily Post segment. ROFLMAO. If you didn't catch the premiere tonight, catch the rerun!

  6. Tonight on Brad Meltzer's Decoded, they had a fascinating show about the Georgia Guidestones. They tried to figure out who had them built, if there was any coded message within them, and they dug into some of the beliefs of the Rosicrucians, including mind control. It was pretty interesting. Brad hypothesizes the guidestones were built, during the height of the Cold War, to give guidelines to humanity to rebuild after near annihilation at our own hands. Sounds pretty plausible of all the motives investigated.

  7. Just caught an episode of Gunsmoke guest starring Victor French, William Katt, and Nick Nolte. It was called the The Tarnished Badge. It's an excellent episode, I've seen it before. Victor French plays a sheriff who rules his little town with an iron fist, total control freak. The town lives in fear of him and when Marshall Dillon comes to town, the townsfolk ask him to enforce the towns' decision to remove the sheriff. The sheriff doesn't appreciate this and comes back to wreak havoc on the town, including killing the new sheriff, a newlywed.

I won't spoil the rest of the episode, but you should catch it!

  8. "I am PROUD of my willingness to lubricate myself for the cause of justice!" ROFLMAO.

"Hey, grasshopper, here's an insight. Sometimes criminals LIE."

"You give that computer machine a biscuit for me."

"Crime is like a woman. When she needs your attention, you gotta pull your gun out and..."

"If it's worth driving to, it's worth driving to fast."

  9. One of the things that really adds to the show The Good Guys is the music. They have simply the best soundtrack I've heard on television, with greats from The Allman Brothers, The Who, Foghat, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, CCR, Foreigner, Steppenwolf, and more.

As I'm going through the episodes, I'll try to post as complete a list of tunes featured in the show that I can.
