The Rebel

The Rebel aired on ABC from 1959 to 1961. It starred Nick Adams as a Confederate soldier, Johnny Yuma, who went through the Wild West helping people against bad guys after the Civil War.

Although the character Johnny Yuma was a Southerner, Nick Adams did not use a Southern accent in portraying him.

Though Nick Adams wanted his friend Elvis Presley to sing The Rebel theme song, the producers preferred and ultimately chose Johnny Cash.
